Does Your Ford Have an
Open Recall?
Look up your Ford by VIN to find out if there's an active safety recall on your vehicle. If there is, our team will take care of it at no cost to you.
Your Safety Matters
Don't Ignore an Open Recall
Safety recalls are issued when a vehicle component doesn't meet federal safety standards or poses a risk to drivers and passengers. Staying on top of open recalls is one of the simplest things you can do to keep your Ford running safely.
Protect Your Family
Recalls can involve safety-critical components: airbags, steering, brakes, and more. Getting them resolved quickly is the best way to keep everyone in the vehicle safe.
Protect Your Investment
An unresolved recall can affect trade-in value and future coverage. Keeping your Ford's recall record clear is smart ownership, and it costs you nothing.
Always at No Charge
By law, manufacturers must cover all recall-related repairs. There's no bill, no deductible. Just bring your Ford in and we'll handle the rest.

Got Questions?
Ford Recall FAQs
Everything you need to know about Ford safety recalls, from how to check your vehicle to what happens at the dealership.
Are Ford recall repairs really free?
Yes, always. Federal law requires Ford to cover all parts and labor for any safety, compliance, or emissions recall at no cost to the vehicle owner. There is no deductible and no fine print. If you previously paid out of pocket for a repair that was later tied to a recall, you may also be eligible for a reimbursement. Ask our service team for details.
Where do I find my VIN?
Your 17-character Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) can be found in three places: on the lower corner of your windshield on the driver's side (visible from outside the vehicle), on the sticker inside your driver's side door jamb, or on your registration, insurance card, or title documents.
Is it safe to keep driving my Ford if it has an open recall?
It depends on the nature of the recall. Many recalls involve minor issues that don't pose an immediate risk, while others, such as those related to brakes, steering, or airbags, may require you to limit driving until the repair is completed. Check the recall notice for specific guidance, and contact our service team if you're unsure. When in doubt, schedule your repair as soon as possible.
Do Ford recalls ever expire?
Safety, compliance, and emissions recalls do not expire. They remain open until the repair is completed, regardless of the vehicle's age or mileage. However, Customer Satisfaction Programs (which are separate from recalls) often do carry expiration dates and mileage limits. If you're unsure which type of notice you received, our team can help clarify.
How will I know if my Ford is recalled in the future?
Ford is required to notify affected owners by first-class mail within 60 days of a recall being issued. To make sure you receive notices promptly, keep your vehicle registration information current with your state and consider registering your vehicle directly with Ford. You can also check your VIN anytime using the tool at the top of this page.
Can a non-Ford shop complete my recall repair?
No. Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized Ford dealership to be valid and covered at no charge. Independent shops are not authorized to complete Ford recall work. AutoFair Ford of Haverhill is a fully authorized Ford dealership with certified technicians and genuine Ford parts on hand to complete your recall repair correctly.
What if parts aren't available yet for my recall?
Parts availability can vary depending on the recall. If parts are not yet in stock, we'll add you to our waitlist and contact you as soon as your repair can be scheduled. In some cases, interim solutions may be available to reduce risk while you wait. For safety-critical recalls, a loaner vehicle may also be provided. Ask our service team when you call.
